Ewing, New Jersey authorities said a 12-year old Fisher Middle School student who brought a stun gun to school Monday told them he did it for protection.
There is no evidence to suggest that the student involved in the disciplinary incident was being bullied or threatened in any way at Fisher Middle School," Ewing -
Millard South Principal Curtis Case returned to his position as head of the school on Jan. 31. Just 26 days after being shot by student Robert Butler a few feet away from his desk, Case is returning to work for several hours each day as he recovers.
While Millard South eases back into normality following the tragedy, the debate as to what could have been done to prevent such an incident continues.
On Jan. 18 Sen. Mark Christensen introduced his solution, Legislative Bill 516, which would allow teachers, administrators and security to carry guns in school. -
Why on earth would I want the thugs and the wolves of society to know that I'm carrying a gun? I want them to think twice before they approach me and try to rob me or anything. I want them to be guessing, is this guy packing or not? But if you open carry you are telling everyone, especially the wolves of society, "Hey, get a pack, attack me and take my gun because I'm a idiot, you can then use it to commit more deadlier crimes."

The handgun is, without a doubt, the only weapon that would give a lone female jogger a chance against thugs’ intent on rape, a teacher a chance of protecting children from a mad gunman, a family of tourists in a subway station the means to protect themselves from a gang of teens armed with razors and knives.
One doesn’t have to be an infantry soldier or a policeman to use a handgun effectively and safely.

Jennifer responds to my “Open Carry for Immodestly Dressed Women” (OCIDW) campaign with several tips on how, until the law is changed, women can dress “cute” (her words) and still conceal a firearm. She has some good suggestions (along with the name of a good holster maker). The Universe and by “Universe” I mean Internet now contains a video on every topic possible, so here is a video I recommend to all women that demonstrates how to carry a firearm concealed and still be “cute”. Not at the level required for the OCIDW campaign, but still cute. In the video, she wears several different outfits and then shows a holster/gun combination that can work into her wardrobe.

The Utah House rejected a bill Thursday that would have required hotels to allow guests to bring guns into their rooms, arguing that it would restrict the hotel owners’ property rights.

Out-of-state gun owners who seek a Utah concealed-weapon permit — which is popular because it is recognized by most states — may soon first need to obtain a permit from their home state, if available.

I’m often contacted about new equipment and not much of it gets me excited, but this holster did light my board. Concerned about the same issues I’ve always had about carrying comfortably while in casual warm weather clothing, Mike came up with the idea for Sticky Holsters. Veteran firearms trainer Clint Smith likes to say “carrying concealed shouldn’t be comfortable — it should be comforting.”

But when I looked at the firearm policy again, it said that concealed-carry guns were allowed on campus. That meant that I could get gunned down before taking out the maximum number of people I could — instead of killing 30 people, I might get only 15 or 16. So I decided I'd let them all live, and get myself checked into therapy. I can't stand being less than perfect."

Let me give you a few examples. First off, firearms are ALL about physics. The law of firearms are first and foremost constrained by the law of physics.

In this accident, the 13-year-old picked up the loaded shotgun that was left in a corner after a hunting trip with his dad and pointed it at his friend. Even though it was an accident, the boy could still face charges. It will be up to the Clackamas County district attorney's office to determine whether the boy will be charged.
Under Oregon law, negligently wounding or even pointing a gun at someone else is a crime. And according to these statutes, even children 13 years old can be charged.

I offer my sympathy to the families of those who lost loved ones to criminals who used firearms to kill, but Ohio’s concealed-carry permit holders are not responsible for these crimes. And suggesting we are culpable is insulting.
