Legislation: Nevada Seeks to Make the Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Permit Process Easier

KOLO TV news’ website¬†posted this tiny story:

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) – A bill that would streamline concealed
weapon permit requirements in Nevada
has received strong support in a Senate Judiciary hearing.

SB126 is sponsored by Sens. James Settelmeyer of Minden and John
Lee of North
Las Vegas.

Click here to find out more!A permit holder currently must qualify on each individual weapon they want to carry concealed, even if they are similar.

Under the proposed measure, a permit holder would have to qualify for a revolver, semi-automatic weapon or both in order to carry them. But they would then be allowed to carry any firearm within those categories.

The bill is supported by the Nevada Sheriff’s and Chief’s
Association.

Only one person spoke against the bill at a hearing Wednesday.

The original of the article, and some stupid comments, can be found here. I am excited to read that the Nevada Sheriff’s and Chief’s Association is supportive of the change. I hope this bill passes. To contact your Senator to help us get this passed, use this website to find out who that is and this website to get contact information for that person!
